Case Studies
Renmark Primary School library
This project involved the construction of a reference design library within the confines of the school. An existing library building was demolished and local services redirected to suit. The internal layout was modified to provide an increased staff work area to suit the specific needs of the school and the external wall finishes reworked to enhance the aesthetics. The use of a high ceiling, internal glazing and large external window provide a sense of internal space.
Loxton Hotel main bar refurbishment
The client brief was to refurbish the main bar into a multi-function space that allowed it to be reconfigured for live bands or hired for private functions. The space had not seen any major refurbishment work for over 20 years and as such required gutting.
The new design included an acoustic ceiling and dropped bulkhead above the bar, along with new general lighting and subtle ambient feature lighting.
The project required construction of an entire new stained timber bar with metal tread plate front panels, a reflection of the rooms working class heritage and incorporated hard wearing stainless steel work surfaces and all the plumbing, refrigeration and electrical requirements.
The specification of new floor tiling, commercial carpets, non-slip vinyl bar floor and wall seating completed the project. New acoustic walls were positioned as a buffer to other areas of the hotel.
Renmark Junior Primary School hall
This project involved the construction of a reference design activity hall adjacent the existing school oval. An existing classroom was demolished, another relocated and local services redirected to provide a clear area for the new construction.
The internal layout was modified to provide internal access to amenities and provide a larger kitchenette space, to suit the specific needs of the school. For continuity, the external feature wall finishes match those of the adjacent library building.
External site works involved reworking the adjacent bitumen car park area, modifying the existing sub surface irrigation under the oval and relaying all paved areas around the new building.
